Just east of downtown Detroit, the English Village is an emerging vibrant neighborhood, characterized by its revitalization projects, diverse community, and growing appeal among residents and investors. Library Street Collective co-founders Anthony & JJ Curis, along with architectural firm OMA, are transforming a vacant 22,300 square foot building located at 9301 Kercheval Ave, in Detroit's East Village into 'LANTERN', a mixed-use space. This redevelopment will house two local arts non-profits, Signal-Return and PASC, offering studio spaces, workshops, galleries, and retail areas. The project aims to create an inclusive arts community, providing accessible public space and fostering cultural engagement in the neighborhood.
